Trying to make an online payment for V10
« on: December 07, 2016, 03:31:14 pm »

Has anyone else had their card refused by DIBS when they tried to pay for V10?
Looking up DIBS it appears to be a Swedish Company. What gives with PhaseOne?

Support says try again with another browser. I.E. or Chrome does not work.

Get and answering At Milhouse office. No call back yet. Over a week now.

Hi Paul,

I had a bit of a different problem with DIBS. The last part of my payment, the verification of my credit card, did not come thru though my bank could see I made the payment. So it is obvious the issue is at their site.

What helped me at the end is to use Safari instead of Firefox (I am on a Mac). This should not make any difference but it did. I informed Phase One about this.

If I recall correctly you can also pay via PayPal. I hope that will work out for you. And report your issue to Phase One anyway, they should now about it. And maybe can help you with another way of paying them (that was the advice my bank gave me) if PayPal does not work for you.

You can contact their Payment Department here: https://www.phaseone.com/en/FooterMenu/Contact.aspx

Good luck!

cheers,
Remko

Edited: corrected a typo.

Yes, that's what I did, although the option was a bit hidden as the last choice in the pull-down menu, due to my browsers using a larger font.

Cheers,
Bart

Or just buy it from your local dealer. We gladly accept credit, cash, gift certificates to Shake Shack or gold bullion.

I found the answer. DIBS does not support debit cards, only credit cards. They have no way to handle the PIN number that debit cards require. Some of us refuse to use credit cards after being burned. (it a long story). With debit cards you are only at risk for the amount that you keep in the account. I learned about the problem of debit cards when I moved to Oregon where all gas stations have fueling attendants to pump your gas. Turns out they are not trained to observe the card and automatically punch the credit button on the gas pump instead of the debit button. Ergo the card is declined. Evidently the PIN is not programmed into the chipped cards either.
