I read this with some hope of making it apply to my horrible user experience with LR....
So I am testing alternatives, and knowing maybe they wont be as rosey in the way others do things, BUT, maybe that is the problem with LR to begin with, doing too much.
I am starting to wish it had a BROWSE mode vs a DATABASE and process only approach.
I'm testing ON1 Raw, and while it has many short comings as a Beta right now, I am loving the speed of 42mpixel files being worked on, and the interface while can use things, I am liking it. Maybe in conjunction with ACDSee Ultimate I can tackle projects.
I did learn one thing from this experience ....
When I moved to LR (I think it was 2.7? or 3) as a "solution" after C1 and its "user issues" with dumping a number of folders in each project folder, and just being so different from standard OS behavior.......
But the bottom line is to follow the DAM Peter Krogh original method of making a database using a Hierarchy folder list system and NOT giving a single application Adobe or other, the power to take over your life work.
