Forget all this stuff, Portugal is in the Euro 2016 finals!
As a revenge, the EU commission (don't know which one, there are so many...) has decided to recommend to the Ecofin to apply sanctions against Portugal and Spain (first and last countries in the old PIGS acronym) for not complying to the 3% deficit target. Portugal's deficit in 2015 was 3.2%, for 2016 it is too early to tell. I am all in favour of obeying the rules, but I find it a tad funny that so much effort is placed in this item, you know, with Brexit and all... the cynic in my may start wondering that Portugal would economically benefit from a terrorist attack, as an excuse not to comply with signed treaties...
