Hiking the Kungsleden in June 2016
« on: June 25, 2016, 08:52:07 am »

Hello,

A week ago two friends and I returned from a 7 day hike in northern Sweden. (Abisko to Nikkaloukta)

I thought this forum would be a good place to showcase some impressions of the region:

The images are out of camera JPEGS from my Fujifilm X-T1 + 16-55mm f2.8 lens (Astia or B/W filmsimulation).

That's a fine set of images, especially for in-camera jpegs. Beautiful area.

I'd echo what Eric has said. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

The trip was indeed a wonderful experience. While the landscape above the tree line felt rough and so alien (almost hostile to life) at first, it was comforting to then slowly realize how the nature was actually trying to brim with life while the snow is melting away for its short summer season and to encounter the few animals (snow grouses and many reindeers) who call this area their home. And most important of all, clear and clean water was accessible everywhere.

This was the first time testing my Fuji X-T1 and I am glad that the JPEGs colors look good enough that I can skip any adjustment steps.

Very nice. The BW #5 is my favourite.
Trekked parts of Kungsleden several times, also this year (two shots from this series are from that trail as well).
We could have even met as we returned 2 days ago. ;) But we were more to the south this year...

You were lucky with reindeer - this year we met just a very few of them.
