Hi,

I wasn't sure from the table at the back of the release notes as to the extent to which C1 9.2 now supports the Fuji XPro2.

I'm assuming it still supports uncompressed raw only, but do lens corrections now work correctly?

Thanks for any info,
Andrew.

I hope the multishot can be supported in a future release of C1.  The support the standard raw is excellent very good profile.

Hi,

For anyone else wondering, I can confirm that disappointingly 9.2 still does not support lens corrections for the Fuji XPro2.

Hopefully this will be fixed in the next release, as it works for all other FujiX series cameras.

I love the output of Capture One, and I don't like the fact that I'm starting to wonder about Lightroom again at the moment :)

Thanks,
Andrew.

Not a matter of being "fixed"... The X Pro 2 support is still "preliminary" and therefore by definition not final / incomplete. When final/complete support is added it will, by definition, include lens corrections for the currently supported fuji lenses.

Phase One does camera profiles right; they take their time and get the color, noise reduction, tonality, and lens profiles as good as possible. They also do their own real world images of real world subjects (not just test charts etc) to check that the results are excellent. As a community we can rush them to support cameras faster, but we do so at our own peril.

Good points well made Doug. My post perhaps came across a bit more negative than intended.

Will wait patiently with my XPro2! We all know that sorting out the XTrans is more complicated than bayer anyway. Have migrated my LR catalog completely across to C1 now, and more than happy with the processing and output.

Thanks for your input,

Andrew.

Are you guys ever going to fix this bug?

http://forum.phaseone.com/En/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=20584

I still see it with the new 9.2 version on Win7 64bit.

The lens correction for the Fuji X-Pro 2 is not yet available. Capture One has been always my SW of choice for the Fuji files, for the X-Pro 2 it is almost unusable. This is really disappointing

I second this. The K-1 pixel-shift implementation makes more sense to me than Olympus’ version on the E-M5 II.

I can't see any reasonable cause for not supporting X-Pro2 files properly except one: They've already started to implement X-Pro 2 support when rumors became more concrete that Fuji will (re)enter the MF market. From that day Fuji falls under C1's No-Support-For-Competitors-Rule.

Just my 2ct. Very sadly I prepare myself for a change to Lightroom...

This is incorrect. I use the X-Pro 2 as the second camera at weddings so I share your frustration. But you're basically posting unfounded and incorrect conspiracy theories.

The X-Pro 2 will be fully supported. Preliminary support is already there.

I repeat my earlier post: Phase One does camera profiles right; they take their time and get the color, noise reduction, tonality, and lens profiles as good as possible. They also do their own real world images of real world subjects (not just test charts etc) to check that the results are excellent. As a community we can rush them to support cameras faster, but we do so at our own peril.

And as I've just posted to a similar thread...
Quote
And no one fear lockouts of high end small-format cameras. Phase One's policy has been crystal clear and consistent since day one:
1) they support high-end small format cameras in C1 as paid software*
2) they provide C1 for free as part of their own medium-format solutions

*Based on popularity and applicability of the camera to their core market of high-end pros and enthusiasts, balanced against the difficulty of support (e.g. harder to support cameras that use a new/unusual sensor). More than 400 are currently supported.

I'd also add this... even in preliminary form I think the quality of conversion of X-Pro 2 raw files is already notably better than any other raw convertor I've tried. It will only get better as they progress to full (non-preliminary) support.

May be - it's just a wild guess.

The X-Pro 2 will be fully supported. (...)

Seems to be an unfounded posting, too. I would be more than glad that C1 proves you right.

but you are not saying that put the same effort in dSLR/dSLM profiles as they do for their own MF... so "as good as possible" is not exactly as possible  ;D

PS: I am not even referring to historic facts of reusing profiles from one pentax camera with Samsung sensor for another pentax camera with Sony sensor few years back (when I used the gear)

Ricoh/Pentax has both MF dSLR and less than MF sensor sized dSLR/dSLM - still less than MF are supported...
