Yes, the tree lean was caused by short focal length. I shot wide so that distortion could be corrected in post, thinking I would retain just the peak on the right. Sober second thought, however, leaves me also wanting to include the right-hand trees. And straightening chops off half of them. Leaving them out makes for a weaker overall composition.
I could have used a shift lens, but time was short. Sadly, Eric, I had no rope handy.
OK, moose 2 it is. I rarely get to shoot an animal in interesting light, so this was a treat.
Interesting ear info, David, I'll remember. As I was leaving two younger guys with long lenses were wading into the willows for a close-up. Perhaps they saw some ears back.
