If you think people are imposing on you, don't answer them.
I've found that some fall into that camp; simply unable to follow simple directions, follow dots, THINK.

I was watching Rudy Giuliani laying out his legal strategy on his YouTube channel when halfway thru the video he made some revealing comments. I think it reveals what he is truly hoping to achieve.

I have linked the YouTube video below to start just before he gets to the heart of what he hopes to achieve in the days, months, and years ahead. Take a couple of minutes to listen. You might learn something about Rudy and his motivation.

I'm so grateful he kept his hands in view most of the time. Now I know where to buy cigars, except I don't smoke.

What's wrong about comparing one group against another.  People are different.  After all, aren't people here telling us how CHina's doing a better job.  Isn't that a whatabout as well?  Whatabout that? :)

I have explained whataboutism to you before and provided links which explain it further, so I can only conclude that either you haven’t made the effort to learn about it or you are incapable of understanding it.

Making an effort to learn is his major weakness. As outlined in a thread running today, on of all odd subjects on LuLa, optimal exposure.
Some are trying to assist/teach, providing a wealth of URL's with information, real information that isn't political but data based. When presented with the opportunity to study and learn, we are told here (https://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=136890.msg1197684#msg1197684) :
If someone else can answer my question without forcing me to read nine treatises on Raw measurements and RAW digger, I'd appreciate it.
You can't force him to read or learn. And he doesn't want to read or learn. After all these pages, it should be obvious that it is a lost cause, falling on two deaf ears.

For all of you lockdown-as-life-saver fans:
One old lady kills herself, maybe due to Covid-19.
260,000 Americans who didn't kill themselves die (thus far) from Covid-19. 2000 today alone!
Terrific absurd comparison; thanks for digging that up and providing zero metric of ”lockdown” too.

Distress centers and woman abuse shelters have reported 50% increase in calls, so that lady is not alone in her predicament.
Lockdowns are not necessarily the best solution, but a targeted early lockdown can sometimes avoid much broader and more disastrous lockdowns later.

So I listened to Rudy’s smoke shop testimonial, and then let him have five or so minutes to “explain“ provisional ballots and I was done. You must have a level of patience which can only be marveled at. I did read that he has to pay his most recent ex-wife $42,000 a month in alimony which may explain some of his behavior.

And back to that law and order business savvy President:
Trump Campaign Owes El Paso $570,000, And The City’s Lawyering Up To Collect.
It's a mere $200K they own Albuquerque 70 miles south of me.
And a guy who lied to law enforcement gets a pardon.
Law and order inside the bubble.

And today there were more than 2,000 deaths in the US, most of them are elderly and I'm sure most of them wanted to continue to live. So you're concerned about 1 person when thousands of innocent elderly die everyday.

Slobo, please tell me you are not so incencitive that you somehow compare this suicide with the thousands ( 260,000 and counting ) that die every day.

Would Rudy and Bill (Clinton) get their cigars from the same smokeshop?  :P

Like you I didn't have the patience to watch the other BS for very long (didn't even reach 5 minutes). It can't be very meaningful either since so many of their lawsuits are thrown out very quickly so if he can't convince the courts why should anybody else be interested?

Well, cases are coming down in Europe after a few weeks of lockdown. Mind you, current lockdowns are less severe than in March-April. Image from Francisco Restivo FB page, data from CSSE-JHU. He is a professor in Porto University and has been following the data since the beginning. Y axis is number of cases per 100,000 people in the last 14 days.

https://www.facebook.com/frestivo

So it is clear that lockdown saves lives, in large numbers. If the old lady commited suicide, maybe the government should have provided adequate support to prevent old people from being abandoned.

... 1. So it is clear that lockdown saves lives, in large numbers.

 2. If the old lady commited suicide, maybe the government should have provided adequate support to prevent old people from being abandoned.

1. That’s an illusion. Lockdowns might temporarily slow down infection, but it just postpones the inevitable and prolongs the misery. Hence the second wave. If lockdowns work long term, it should have been “one and done.” Since you can not keep it tight for prolonged periods, the virus comes back with a vengeance.

2. It is precisely the government-imposed lockdown that put her in the abandoned situation. Or to be clear, she wasn’t abandoned by her family or not having family.

The efficacy of lockdowns shall not only be measured by the death rate from the virus, but also the death and misery inflicted by the lockdowns. 100s of millions of hungry kids all over the world, increased suicides, domestic violence, substance abuse, postponed medical treatment, massive unemployment, etc.

The inevitable development of a highly effective vaccine?

(The woman killed herself three weeks before Pfizer's announcement.)

What approach do you think care homes should take? Let it rip?

1. No, it is a scientific fact that by preventing people from contact reduces the spread of the infection. Until a treatment or vaccine is available, an in order to prevent hospitals being overwhelmed with sick people, that is the best way to prevent the spread. Since a treatment or vaccine is not available yet, if lockdowns are relaxed, of course the infection will spread again. Hence, more than 1 lockdown is required to tame the spread.

2. Well then the governament failed her and the many others that are abandoned. All the issues youmention, impact in economy, social problems, etc, should be mitigated by governments.

This is not how it works. If the lockdown is planned and executed properly, the virus dies (in that region). It will "come back only" only if the lockdown is not enforced.
In a few extreme instances, such as in New Zealand and some other islands the virus was pretty much "locked out".  In some other regions the virus still got in, but its spread was very limited. In a few other places, the lockdowns very successful in the first wave, but the virus came back when the restrictions were relaxed.

On a personal level, by practicing my own lockdown and avoiding crowded spaces so far I was able to avoid the virus, but if I started to relax my social distaancing and went to bars and travel in a rush hour on crowded buses, I might have contracted it.

Opposite of a lockdown is Trump's latest idiotic and irresponsible encouragement of travel and group gatherings for this Thanksgiving.  While the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends against traveling for Thanksgiving as a means to preventing further spread of the coronavirus, Trump's invitation to spread the virus will cause the infections in USA grow very rapidly and more broadly, quite possibly to 300,000 to 500,000 new cases per day. Watch out the stats next week.

Quote
President Donald Trump's annual Thanksgiving proclamation calls for Americans to "gather" for the holiday, even though federal public health officials have explicitly warned against it.
The final line of the proclamation, issued by the White House press secretary's office Wednesday evening, reads: "I encourage all Americans to gather, in homes and places of worship, to offer a prayer of thanks to God for our many blessings."

The inevitable development of a highly effective vaccine?

(The woman killed herself three weeks before Pfizer's announcement.)

What approach do you think care homes should take? Let it rip?

It will take months before the vaccine is distributed and immunity achieved.

What approach? That's a good question. I can only offer you my personal opinion. At that age, I would prefer to see my family even if I would be 100% sure I would die after that. But that's just me. I understand that your next objection would be that it isn't just about me, but potentially infected others in the nursing home. That is a fair concern. But don't masks work? Cashiers in Walmarts etc. encounter hundreds of customers every day. People spend hours on the plane. So if the old folks meet their family in a specially designated room with good ventilation, both wearing mask, have negative tests, do not spend more than 10-15 minutes per visit, have hands disinfected before and after, etc., shouldn't that be enough?
