I am looking for a good stand alone storage device for my pictures when traveling.  I know of the Epson P-2000 but was wondering if anyone knows of another unit that would work just as well but not quite as expensive.  I have seen a few out there.

Anyone have a suggestion or two.

Appreciated!

a cheap used laptop.... you get a bigger screen to review your pictures.

check out the hyperdrive: http://hyperdrive.com/shop/index.php

I just got one with a 100 gig hd.  Price is right and performance is first rate as is battery life (uses AA's)

I'd say it depends on how much you want to do in the field - lap top makes more sense than the epson, if you want to review images, you can easily delete and even do the RAW conversion in the field, but a "cheap" used laptop likely isn't going to have a big enough HD for serious storage.
