Keith, beautiful image, very delicate tones. Most look good in print.

ACH, I can point to Michael Reichmann's review here at LuLa as the reason I started looking at characteristics of old lenses. Aberrations can be a feature and not a problem, in some situations. I know people love their Otus 55 or Sigma Art 50, but it is always good to make the best of what you actually have on hand. If I am hiking with lots of elevation, I start looking at weight, and this is where the old-timers (and pancake lenses) excel.

Thank You Nancy.
This image is just to show the creamy render of this lens at 1.2. A7R NIkkor-s 55mm. I use it at different diaphragms depending on the effect I want to get. Past f8 is very normal with just some vignette and barrel distortion.
The barrel distortion I don't like at all so is edited out in ACR.

I enjoy shooting a lot of macro and after having gone through a variety of ring lights etc. have found the Ray Flash attachment to be best for even lighting in conjunction with the 200MM Micro-nikkor lens that affords a decent working distance. Most of the macro images on my website were taken with this setup...

Today I got hold of a Kipon Tilt Shift adapter to use on the Sony A7R with Nikon G and F glasses.
Once I do some testing will be posting something here.

Well this is a quick dirty test. Sony A7R + Kipon TS Nikon G to Sony E Adapter + Nikon 14-24mm 2.8 Zoom Lens.

Camera in Landscape position shifted +- 12mm up and down to get a vertical stitched pano. Lens set to 24mm F/8 Aprox

My lens is not shaved so I can only use it in this adapter at 24mm.

At 18mm only have close to 5mm Shift.

Astonishing photography Hans. I like the last one very much. I see that you use different equipment, how do you cope with that.

First one with Nikon D4 and Sigma Art 50mm at full open:

Second one with Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujinon 56mm f/1.2 at full open:

Both converted to B&W with NIK Silver Effex, with pinhole effect at 40% strength on top classic B&W conversion. Shot in a cluttered living room with one LED panel, painted bed board as background which happened to lean against the wall.

Thanks very much. I shoot Canon and Nikon for my workshops and so much that it is second nature. I do this to be able to help my students with practical advice on camera settings when needed and how to do it. So far Canon and Nikon are totally dominant on the workshops with an occasional m4/3, Sony, Phase One or Hassy. The Phase One was for a period since I was instructor on two Phase One workshops.

Now many photographer like you and me are using 2 cameras, the heavy official one and small one for the kicks. Maybe the kicks are become more important!
A friend of mine wedding photographer uses Canon 1Dx, Hassy and now a Fuji X-T1. He's turning over to the fuji, for skin texture and color rendering he says is much better.

The Fuji has replaced my Nikon for pretty much all the shoots where the added resolution or AF is not needed.

Great photos on this threat!

It is quite remarkable to see how TINY the film SLRs were, compared with the current DSLRs.
