Voigtlander 58 1.4

How many of you are focusing this on a full frame Nikon body (or Canon)? Any difficulties? Any tips?
Admittedly I haven't focused manually for a very long time but on a D750 it is quite difficult to focus wide open. I can get an approximate focus which works ok at 25% magnification at most but nothing more consistently.
It was quite dark and I have glasses (they don't play very well with the viewfinder) but I also got today a Samyang 135 F2 and I find that unexpectedly easy to focus manually.

The primary intended use was to mount it on a Fuji with the Metabones Speed Ultra which will make it equivalent to a 62mm  F1 along with focus peaking and 10x magnification so I should be covered but I have great memories of my fathers Zenit with a Helios 58mm F2 and I would like to replicate it if possible.
