Winter roadside
« on: February 18, 2015, 11:56:56 am »

Getting impatient for spring, I am growing tired of chasing birds with my new 7DII and looking for what are, for me at least, more normal subjects. So a drive to the rural edge of Oklahoma City, only a few miles from home, produced these shots. One of the better things about winter to me is that the skeletons of trees are not hidden by foliage. And yes, the soil in this part of Oklahoma really is that red. The second shot shows an approaching storm cloud that arrived just as I was packing up. Hope you enjoy these. Comments are greatly appreciated.

And a couple of hawks - been using the birds to learn the 7DII.

Nice four-layer composition in #2. Not sure the metal bits are helping!
