Fuji 50 -140 f2.8
« on: February 11, 2015, 08:25:00 pm »

Just got this lens and it is really good.  I just noticed it does not have an aperture switch on the lens like the rest of the Fuji lenses. Anyone know why?  Kevin?

I've got four Fujifilm X mount lenses (18mm, 23mm, 35mm, 56mm) and none have an aperture switch.  What's that supposed to be?

On the zooms with no marked apertures there is a switch between "manual" aperture and auto aperture, which behaves more like a P mode.

On the primes there is no switch but there is the letter A on the aperture ring which does the same thing. I think it's more elegant as you get rid off a switch and still achieve the same results, with the caveat that on many Fuji lenses the aperture ring it's moving too easily and you can end up in A mode.

I would prefer not be be present at all as I never use it, I only shoot aperture priority or full manual.

Not having any primes, I didn't know they didn't have the switch. It is nice not to have to worry about accidentally moving the switch and getting into P mode.
