The calibration procedure, not icc profiling, fails when calibrating matte media, but not glossy type media using pk ink.
I have no idea why. Like I said tried this from Windows 7, and Mac Lion, and from the printer's menu on the printer itself. It's all the same.
The target is printed as normal, and it looks totally normal, then the I1 reads the target as it normally does but when it gets to the end rather than saying calibration successful, you get the error message, " calibration failed to complete, try starting it again".
So, the spectro is working fine as it calibrates the fiber gloss media or rc media and saves the calibration. The failure only comes with matte media. Bizarre. Probably some bullshit HP firmware situation. I'll call them on Monday.
