Love the subtle qualities of this.  Very abstract yet enticing.  Tim

An impressionist painting.

Very Nice indeed.

There's a reason that reflections have become clichés: they're beautiful.

Thanks everyone.  ;)

Yes I had been driving around scouting for a couple of hours ever hopeful, even though it was one of those disappointing flat light Mizzle/Scotch Mist days.  Which just goes to show, that making yourself get out of the warm car anyway, set up your kit and then stand there getting soaked cursing at the weather, can sometimes have the desired effect  :D

Even though I initially was 'merely' enjoying the wonderful tranquil view with the soft colours and serene atmosphere as a beautiful image I then scrolled down and after Slobodan's post I had to laugh so very very hard  :D

(and that was a much needed bit of laughter on a day were good ol' Murphy's Law ruled since the early hours of the morning  :-\ )

So: Thanks Guys ! For enduring the rain & taking the shot,  for being funny and for putting things in perspective (Jeremy  ;) )

Cheers, Sander

Very nice image Dave, and I should say that I think it very precisely conveys that sensation that I felt on the Isle of Skye.

We were there a couple years ago. We crossed the bridge on A87 at Kyle of Lochalsh and drove part way around the isle.  I don't recall seeing this particular view, but the drive was not shockingly bright or overly dark but full of pastels, calm and relaxing.  That is exactly the sensation I get from your image.  Well done.

Dave
I'm not a big fan of reflection photos but i really like this. It has a lovely balance. The 3 smaller pieces of land in the foreground works very well as does the panoramic format. I'm sure it would look lovely printed big. Well done
