Nice Bernard. Looks like you are enjoying the 90hr-sw.

Thanks Dave,

Yep, pretty amazing lens. In combination with the sensor it is an amazing combo for this kind of shooting. Now I need to add spherical stitching to the mix for added fun! ;)

I designed and had 3D printed a special bracket to mount a laptop battery below the H6D-100c back and it makes usage on the Arca in the field painless. The rotamount makes changes of orientatin easy too.

The only slight issue is that the back won't shoot when live vew is active. You need first to exit live view at least when the capture is triggered by the lens. They have a pinhole mode that adresses this, but subject movement becomes a problem I believe... anyway, more studying needed but happy so far.

Due to the nature of the subject I didn't even bother to do an LCC for the night shots. I had pretty big amounts of rise applied here, but no color cast is visible... well you could argue that the whole image is a huge color cast obviously. ;)

Cheers,
Bernard

Great that you figured out the battery. If the pinhole mode is anything like P1, then yes human movement is a problem. However, I've never detected a problem with natural movements like windy branches or water. Never tried ocean waves though.

You will probably want an LCC for stitching. Other than that, hit or miss. Certainly on your snow images!

Ciao,
Dave

Thanks for the feedback Dave.

P1's implementation may be better, the Hassy is limited to 1/8 sec as fastest shutter speed in pinhole mode.

Cheers,
Bernard

The owl who lives at the end of my driveway appears in the July issue of Outdoor Photographer.  I showed him the picture, but he appeared unimpressed.  I, on the other hand, am tickled pink.

cFlatside sunrise from fall 2016 IQ3100 by paul caldwell, on Flickr]

One from the fall of 2016.  Still impressed with the IQ3100 and high light retention, but not so much with shadow push.  More than likely it's my back as other report excellent push.
Taken in 2 exposures, ISO50 for sky and ISO 200 for tree as wind was blowing around 25 mph and there is still some wind movement.
Image may appear a tad over sharpened, due to Flickr, as it seems to add a bit of sharpening to images.

Remarkable, Paul It has the look of an incredibly well done illustration, rather than having a photographic feel. I'm sure that was your intent, and you sure carried it off.

Hi,

Beautiful images. I remember that you had some issues with the  H6D-100c, how is the "Saga" going?

Thanks.

Most of the issues I had were fixed with firmware 1.16 a few months ago.

The camera now performs as expected.

It means its image quality is outstanding, its CMOS sensor offers excellent live view,...

The limitations compared to my Nikons are mostly related to focusing, but it was a known topic and is manageable for I do with the camera.

Cheers,
Bernard
