5:15am start, little more than an hour snowshoe to Lake Haiyaha in Rocky Mountain National Park. Quick trip but a pretty day all around and great time.

Alpa STC, sk35xl, IQ3100, no movements.

Very nice Dave!
Thanks Cam. I tried to get to this lake last winter but failed. I had never been on the trail before and borrowed snowshoes that were too small. Postholed with snowshoes on. Made it this year with some trail beta and better shoes. One of my favorite things to do is start out in the dark and experience the day emerge while hiking. Fun day.

Any particular reason for not utilizing the full dr output potential for this image? Seems it would be well suited to optimally represent that luminous quality of sky at dusk. I would prefer a different wb as well to better separate the subtle coloring.

I guess because it was dusk and that is how it looked. I didn't want it to look unnaturally bright.

I am with you, Matt. The muted colors of winter dusk are beautiful. Lovely photo just as it is.

Thanks Nancy. I have a friend here is is a pretty successful landscape photographer and he would have made this much brighter with the red dogwood on the left looking all crimson but his approach can be too much, IMO. The images are beautiful but don't convey the actual scene.
Here's the same image edited in a style that I think looks similar to my friend's. Actually he'd probably go farther but this was all I could bring myself to do. :)

I don't like this version at all.  The subtly of your first version is really nice.  Don't change a thing!
