Print files - bets parameters to convert to jpeg
« on: November 16, 2014, 04:49:55 pm »

I normally save my soft proofed files (along with print specific adjustments) as Tiff or psd. It has some disadvantages. File size for storage and backup being the main one. My current workflow is as follows

Master file - this contains all global / local adjustments to the image
Pre Print File - Its a copy of master file flattened and then adjustment layers created specifically for soft proofing / print adjustments
Print via RIP

I'd love to convert the Pre Print files to jpeg. What are the pro (other than file size) and cons to this approach. Looking for some advice and recomendations

thanks
