Funny how my brain associations work, Russ. There are two Gene's images that came to my mind when I saw your photo. One is The Walk to Paradise Garden, and the other is the Minamata.
Two kids and the strong vignetting are the visual associations that link it to Paradise. The Minamata association is more complex. In terms of content, greater significance, and seriousness, it is hard to link Gene's Minamata tragedy to the cuteness of a childhood moment in your image. And yet, in terms of pure visual elements, my brain sees similarities and creates associations: vignetting, the embrace, those eyes, the bent wrist...
