Frank, if you mean unbelievably good, I disagree.  The several I looked at were nice pictures* but only that.  The lite was boring in all those I looked at and I wouldn't have taken them.  (I don't mean to sound like a snob...I simply would not have clicked the shutter to create those images.  Maybe Michael's taught me better.)

*--You know...the ones your mother says 'nice picture' about as she hands it back to you.

I thought the yellow blossum was kinda nice and the b/w creepy trees were interesting.

The ducks on the other hand were atrociously bad.  Someone has got to explain to this guy that shooting small wildlife from above almost invariably looks like a snapshot.

No, I could never believe such unprincipled behaviour. I mean I would never dream of tricking people into visiting http://www.snowhenge.net/php/search_session.php

Some really nice work there david, I particuarlly like the Antartic stuff, somewhere I'm very keen to see one day.  On my monitor alot of the images seemed slightly soft - I think this is just a sharpening issue.  I know that if I don't sharpen my images quite a bit when I save as jpegs they look a bit soft.

While I'm at it.

How about just downloading the images that are up on the site and then running a 1 pixel 75% sharpen over them.  Save again and jpeg etc... It really makes a big difference, even on fairly average monitors.  These days lots of people use LCDs or good flat CRTs as well.

It's decent work, definitely not of the caliber of Michael R. or lots of others who hang around here, but showing some promise.

Not sure what the purpose of your original post was, except to try to draw traffic and/or sales to that site.

Hi David,

Nice page you have there. But would you please fix the broken links for the first 8 images of the antarctica collection?

Thank you

I only recently added a sharpening step to my web publishing workflow. I used to think it was pretty pointless with the quality of the average CRT - but then I realised that the people I wanted to visit the site probably have good quality displays.

Unfortunately this struck me _after_  I had just completed a complete overhaul of the site, and to reprocess everything means digging through my CD archive _again_ ... I'd rather work on new stuff for now!

Then again, maybe some of them are just out of focus....

...and thanks for the kind words.  As far as the Antarctic stuff is concerned, I wish I'd known then what I know now.
