Critiques by Reichmann?
« Reply #20 on: December 13, 2005, 01:39:53 pm »

On the original topic, didn't Mr. Reichmann once state that he stopped doing the critiques becuase of the volume he was getting?  Something like that?  I'm not sure when or where I got that, so I may be off, but I swear I remember that.

Kaelaria, you are not helping your case.

My original response was this:

"Is it too much to refer to him as Michael or Mr Reichmann?"

Well, you see, in fact, strictly speaking, it wasn't.  You're technically telling a bit of a porkie here.  Lighten up fer crissakes. You're really making a fool of yourself. As if jumping on a perfectly innocent first post by a non-native speaker wasn't enough.

Here, in Switzerland, it would be extremely disrespectful to use somebody's first name without being invited to do so.  Different cultures have different standards.  I really doubt that Michael would want you to go on such a crusade for him.

Clearly you haven't read the anti-Reichmann threads over at dpreview.com.

It was word for word my initial response minus a spelling mistake on one letter. Don't be obnoxious by implying that I lied.

I can't read the initial post as 'jumping on someone' it was an observation based on exactly those threads in Dpreview and other places that Dark Penguin mentioned.

Whenever MR writes an article that is not totally picture orientated then he seems to be slammed on DPreview, FM and other forums for being totally digital biased to the point of blindness to it's faults, that he is a paid lackey of Canon, that his pictures are mediocre and he wouldn't have a voice in the market place if he didn't have apparent millions to spend on equipment and trips, etc, etc and it's always 'Reichman is this, 'Reichman is that', it's certainly used in an offensive manner there.

This is quite honestly, the most bizarre thread I have ever read.  Everyone go out and shoot some images. Eleanor

Eleanor,
I wanted to shoot some images, but the gallery owner wouldn't let me in with my Uzi!

Just been putting up a bunch of images for exhibition, have banged my thumb four times with the hammer and the guy wants 10 extra pictures in the back room should he run out (I wish!). Sigh....
