Aperture Not Seeing Files After Migration

Hi all, after doing a migration from my old iMac running yosemite to my new one (5K
I have discovered a problem that did not previously exist. It seems that aperture 3.6 will not display files to import when you use the import button and point it a a directory. If you use the i
mport command
from the menu you get the standard file finder and it seems to see the files OK. I've tried googling this but haven't seen anything similar.
As Always, Thanks!!
