Up in the clouds
« on: October 27, 2014, 05:21:46 am »

The plane was taking off from Istanbul at sunset, when I saw this light in the clouds.

I was on an early morning commuter flight from Santa Barbara to LAX in 1999 or 2000 and saw a beautiful sunrise worthy of a photograph.  My gear was stowed in the overhead bin and I could have gotten it out, but didn't want to cause a problem for the person seated next to me.  I enjoyed the scene and let it go and have regretted it since.  In September this year I was flying from Atlanta to Orlando and saw a beautiful sunset worthy of a photograph so I shot it with my iPhone.  My gear, a D800 and various other stuff, was stowed in the overhead bin.  Oh how I wish I'd gotten it out.

Here's the iPhone photo.

I love the warm oranges in clouds like that. Nice.
