Handbound Portfolio
« on: October 24, 2014, 12:20:56 pm »

I'm looking for a couple of new portfolios for my advertising and commercial work. In the past I have used Eriko Yahiro but I can't get a hold of her by phone or email.
Outside of the sites below, can anyone recommend someone for a modest, simple portfolio and slip case?

Looking for more of the hand bound craftsman style, nice and custom, not really into the whole Indigo press thing.
I also like to print my own so Artisan, Asuka, CMYK and the rest of them are out.
Just looking for the book itself, but not "off the rack"
Thanks

I'm really pleased with MOAB's Chinle Digital Books.  I've printed four up to now and love the paper & binder.

Hi Mike
thanks for the reply. Those books aren't really handmade or custom.
I'm looking for more of a craftsman bespoke quality.
Unfortunately they are also a little on the small side too.

thanks

Apologies for highjacking the thread, but I had to say this. Simon, thanks a lot for this tip!

I just had my little black book delivered and I am so very happy with the quality. Hard pages and gutter-less printing of panoramic shots --amazing.

Also
a recent addition for handmade portfolios (thanks Brooks)

I'll have to check him out as Nicole is booked well into 2015.
There's a profession for you, bookmaking, never seems to be a shortage of work.

Jonathan who rep'ed for the House of Portfolios in London for years, then Brewer Cantelmo more recently, seems to have dissapeared  :(

One worth looking at if you want to show an image on the right page only is Plastic Sandwich.

But for truly bespoke, Cathy Robert at the Delta Design Studio is definitely the way to go.
