I really like this photo, in part because it reminds me of my own visit to Köln in late winter 1985 while travelling across Europe with my then girlfriend. The weather was cloudy & cool, and the city had a benign grayness to it that Michael's photo captures well. After 18 months in the bright desert of the Middle East we were thrilled to be back in a place where you could go walking with a jacket on in the early morning, treading on wet pavement and seeing your breath. So we welcomed the gloom and the drizzle.
(I've had my hands on a Canon 50/0.95 but have never taken photos with one.)
