Ever so often, something comes between you and your shot. In this instance whereas me and a few boat captains have had some serious words, we managed to come to at least a truce and they ask before just motoring into the middle of a shot I am making. Their argument was they were working for a living. My argument was so was I.

Anyway, the truce made and lines of courtesy drawn, I now get my shot but when they enter my space, I incorporate them into the shoot and send them a low res image. Almost every Capt'n has purchased a much larger and high end file print from me. Sometimes, the old adage oh catching more bears with honey than vinegar pays off...or in as it is paying in.

This shot was made 14 minutes before the sun cracked the horizon and what a dawn it was to behold.

Very nice light and the boat is well detached from the gorgeous sky (good thing to sell your photo to the captain).
Well done

PS: thanks for story boats vs photographer…
