I need to find a spirit level
« on: July 27, 2014, 11:55:27 pm »

I have one gitzo tripod set up for still photography and one for video.  I have one with the 75mm bowl that I use with a video head.  I want to buy a 75mm half ball base like this one, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/366662-REG/Manfrotto_520BALLSH_520BALLSH_75mm_Half_Ball_with.html/prm/alsVwDtl and mount at still photography ball head on top.  I want to find a spirit level accessory that will fit in between so I can dependably level the head for panning.  Do you have any suggestions?  Thanks very much.  I am trying to pare down the amount of kit I have to carry in the field when I shooting both video and stills.

The RRS leveling bases have a spirit level built in: http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/s.nl/sc.26/category.563/it.C/.f

Ofcourse if yo ualready have the bowl the price difference is in favor of the Manfrotto hemisphere but if you don't,  the Manfrotto bowl + half ball + RRS Leveling plate combination is slightly more expensive than the RRS TA -3-LB http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/s.nl/it.A/id.7813/.f

Thanks Ellis.  There is already a 75mm bowl mounted in the tripod.  I normally use this tripod with a video head.  This is an effort to need less stuff in the field when shooting both video and stills.
