Xitek EVF for Sigma
« on: July 19, 2014, 10:29:53 pm »

I just received my Xitek EVF for the Sigma Merrill.

I was told by the inventor in China that I am the very 1st person to have successfully ordered one as the site was in Chinese.

By the way, I do not speak a word of Chinese. Thanks to Microsoft translator for that one.

At any rate, has asked to help him publicize his product here in America, etc. by giving out an English-based link.

I said I would be glad to help.

So here it is:

Please feel free to pass the info. on to anyone you may know who could be interested.

Thanks in advance.

Happy shopping.

Ok, what do you think of it?  Compared, say to a Sony flip screen?

One of the things that keep me away from Sigma is no EVF

It depends on what you are expecting and shooting.

I'm satisfied so far but my expectations were realistic going in.

Kind of tired of using the Hoodman loupe.

If you are doing a lot of Macro type stuff might it be an issue for really critical focusing tasks.

For general framing and composition I think it will work fine.

The output is 640 x 480 w about 97% coverage.

There are a few nitpicks like lack of a diopter my vision is decent enough so it isn't an issue for me.

Hope this helps.
