Hope Michael does not mind my recommending another site?

However this seems to be a comprehensive site for the V750:-

In my opinion, the best way to scan MF film on the V750 is to scan the negatives in Vuescan, save the raw data as a tiff, and use Color Perfect in Photoshop to convert them.
Ben Anderson has a great tutorial about the workflow and settings involved: http://benneh.net/techshit/vuescan-colorperfect-a-guide/?goal=yes
I scan at the maximum resolution of 6400dpi, even though the scanner doesn't really resolve more than around 2400dpi, and downsize the images using PhotoZoom. Sharpening is turned off in Vuescan, ICE is set to the lowest setting.

I never liked the included SilferFast software. It seems to scan less detail than Vuescan, the colors required a lot of work, and, most importantly, I couldn't get consistent results.

Hope this helps,
Martin

I made a similar experience with the silverfast software, my workaround is to use the epson scan software.
For the raw-scan without any adjustments @3200 to 6400 dpi. After this i open the huge file is photoshop elements and adjust the tone curve, slightly sharpen the image and reduce the pixel count to 5000 (long side). Same with 4x5 negatives.

kind regards
