Shine A Light On Me
« on: May 16, 2014, 11:28:31 pm »

Canon 6D, Canon 17-40 f/4 L - 25mm, f/7.1, 1/160, ISO 200

We had some crazy weather roll through late in the day. The sun fought its way through and added its own drama. The landscape itself isn't much. But, you work with what you're given here in the middle west on a run to the store (not making excuses, I love where I live and I try to make the most of it).

Feedback welcome.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this - very pleasing to the eye!

Lovely shot. I would have been tempted to try and separate the foliage from the background by taking a lower viewpoint or moving slightly closer, a few feet would do. I could, of course, be trying to teach my granny to suck eggs.

Thanks, gents. Great tip on the lower angle, Ken. It's been a bit wet for me to even have gone another 3' into the frame. But, this is just down the road so I'll be on the lookout for another opportunity.

The other thing I'll mention is that I'm really starting to like the Photoshop workflow plus a few minor LR tweaks at the end. I used to do everything in LR4. But, I think I PS suits my tastes a bit more for images like this.

Beautiful patterns and colour contrast in the foreground fields. You didn't happen to forego the beautiful sky on a few shots and tilt down to accentuate this great foreground, did you?
