I am so glad you did not have "clouds drama" there!
I've got so tired of those drama queens (pardon, drama clouds) that permeate photographic sites these days. You know, when a natural drama is enhanced to the Nth degree by various techniques so readily available to anyone to play with, with or without good reason, all those HDR, Photomatix, Clarity, Topaz, tools, etc. etc., pushed to the breaking point, so that the end result looks more like a paper cutout than a beauty of nature. And before someone else points it out, yes, I am as guilty of it as the next guy
You managed to preserve the delicate, pastel tonality of the scene rather well. That, in turn, created an interesting contrast between the force of nature there and the implied gentleness that goes with pastels. The whole image, when viewed from a distance, can easily be perceived as an abstract, and that is a good thing.
In short, a beautiful picture!
P.S. Love that faint pink in the upper right corner... that would be enough drama in the pastel world for me
