Tuscany in October
« on: April 10, 2014, 01:52:22 pm »

Tuscany can be very nice the autumn and late autumn. Here are a couple of pictures from one morning in October 2013 that was some of the most spectacular that I have seen there.

I find them both enchanting. They make me want to get back to Tuscany soon.

Superb, as usual! Late fall is the best season to enjoy Tuscany, lingering fog can transform landscape into something magical.

Well done, Hans.

Thanks very much. I really like the late autumn with the fog and dramatic weather.

But spring can be very nice too and there are also fog in the spring, here is one from May 2013

and also May 2013

and this one is from April 2012 not without fog but dramatic weather and late afternoon light (maybe half an hour before sunset)

I agree but I still prefer autumn. The only season that I didn't like too much was winter and even then, landscape is different and still great for photography. As for fog, I can remember of a mid June day with fog so thick you'd thought to be in London  :D

Great set. I love that region in general. But, especially in the fall. Wild boar ragu and pici, please.

The Val D'Orcia in Toscana is one of the most difficult places to photograph because of the enormous number of shots already taken there.
But, said from one who lives in Tuscany (2,5 hrs drive from there), I do like your versions ;)

Thanks very much. I like Tuscany also in November due to the greenery and the colors in the fields. I come in Tuscany 2-3 times/year.

Wonderful shots Hans, for 2014 I would recommend you the hills of the Marches, where you can sit and contemplate "[...] quinci il mar da lungi e quindi il monte [...]..."

P.S. I have visited your site:  Tuscany, Abruzzo, Umbria and... nothing of the Marches? Ahi ahi ahi... It's unforgivable.

Maybe I will have look late this years as two of my workshops go to Umbria so a little detour could perhaps be justified.

A little detour isn't enough... the hills of the Marches deserve a systematic research.

P.S. I suggest also Langhe and Monferrato in Piedmont.

Ciao

I know what it takes to research a given area. It takes a lot more than expected each time  :D

Right now I'm in Sicily. In many ways a beautiful place but with so much garbage that it is unbelievable. In every sense of the word, btw.
