This is a GREAT camera, superior image results and great design.

Sony HDR-HC1 Extra’s & Notes

The kit includes everything that shipped with the new unit except the USB cable and the printed manual. I will email you the PDF manual and the USB cable is a standard USB to mini-USB. You want the firewire cable in any case.

Here are a few extras: Two high capacity InfoLithium batteries. The NP-QM71D & NP-QM91D + dedicated charger. Also a glass UV filter to protect the lens inserted between the lens shade and the lens. The lens cap fits inside the shade so you can leave it in place full time.

Note the Steadyshot image stabilization is effective and works well. You can hand hold the camera at a full zoom with great results.

Finally, this is a very well designed camera, you can use an “i-link” cable (I used a firewire cable) to allow your computer to have full control over the transport and off-load the tapes into your hard drive. The original tapes serve as an inexpensive backup.

The Sony product info:

1/3-inch CMOS sensor with 3.0-megapixel still-image resolution
HDV 1080i camcorder features HDV, DV and SD recording
10x optical zoom with Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization
2.7-inch hybrid touch-panel SwivelScreen LCD
Powered by InfoLithium rechargeable battery NP-FM50 (included)

The HDR-HC1 features Sony's CMOS imaging sensor technology, designed to deliver faster image processing speeds for richer colors, more vivid detail, and significantly less glare from reflected light. The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens further enhances image clarity and richness, even when shooting in low light.

An awesome camera with USB and firewire connectivity,
