Interchangeable lens iPhone?
« on: April 01, 2014, 11:31:35 pm »

I had to check this one, given the date of issue: it seems that Apple has patented the bayonet lens mount. Apparently you can do this, if it has the novelty of being on a phone.  So will we see lens systems for phone-cameras, and a further undermining of the market for "small sensor cameras that cannot make phone calls or browse the internet"?

It's been eight years to the day since the announcement of the first interchangeable lens cellphone:

No bayonet lens mount, so Apple's patent may be safe.

Nikon and Canon should just add a phone to their p&p cameras.
