I love LR/Enfuse, but it's designed for exposure stacking, not focus stacking.
I use LR, and I use Enfuse -- I don't use the LR/Enfuse plugin.
Enfuse works fine for focus stacking, see "
8.6 Focus Stacks – Depth-of-Field Increase"
In some cases the default settings might show visible seams which can be countered by setting --contrast-edge-scale and --contrast-min-curvature, for example:
align_image_stack -m -a a …
enfuse --exposure-weight=0 --saturation-weight=0 --contrast-weight=1 --hard-mask --contrast-edge-scale=0.3 --contrast-min-curvature=0.5% --contrast-window-size=9 …
:otherwise something like this:
align_image_stack -m -a a …
enfuse --exposure-weight=0 --saturation-weight=0 --contrast-weight=1 --hard-mask --contrast-window-size=9 …
