What Monitor Profiler for Mavericks?
« on: March 03, 2014, 05:47:41 pm »

X-rite says it no longer supports gretagmacbeth eye-one display 2 (no support after Lion).  Is there a good and reasonably priced monitor profiler out there that is good to go with Mavericks without downloading patches, etc?

Doesn't i1Profiler work with your i1Display2?

Are you saying that you think it does?  I don't know - please clarify, if you would....

I only have the monitor puck - I believe iProfiler requires a dongle?

From what most people say the i1 Display Pro (or the slower ColorMunki Display) is a good solution for profiling with. It would need i1Profiler 1.5.0 & XRD 2.3.2 (see here to works with Mac OS X 10.9. I think X-Rite retired the i1 Display 2 with Lion and their special i1Profiler version in favour of the i1 Display Pro. I'd get a copy of the i1Profiler software anyhow to try it out in demo mode to see you like it. You could also go with the ColorMunki Photo for a bit more for printer profiling, however the software is getting a bit old without updates (X-Rite seems firmly committed to i1Profiler) so I'm not sure how long it'll keep working on Mac OS X.

UPDATE -
Just got an i1 Display Pro and it works great with Mavericks.
There's a patch to install and it requires a minor secondary display workaround, but all in all, I'm a happy camper.
