4: Sunrise over Laguna Miniques (closer) and Laguna Miscanti (further) in the Chilean Altiplano. Multiple volcanoes, including Miscanti (the nearest peak) can be seen in the background. Originally a single, larger lake, the lakes took their present form when a lava flow from Miniques, flowing from the right of the image, bisected the lake to form two smaller ones.
The lakes are very blue under neutral lighting, giving a blue hue to reflections even when reflecting the orange dawn sky.
