Which one do you like better in terms of composition? C&C on exposure and post are also welcome.

For me, #2 without a doubt.

I like #1 for it's sense of balance. It gives me a sense of the place. It makes me want to stay in the photo and look around.
#2 I look and leave.

The brick wall and the bridge in the background make for nice lines.

I like #2 better but I would prefer to see less dynamic range in the sky

2 - no question. The rock in the other is too small and uninteresting.

#2. In contrast to my remarks elsewhere about your processing, which generally I like, this one is plain weird. Processing from #1, composition from #2.

If it were just the rock in the foreground I would go for #1, but the ratty looking logs detract. #2 is way over-processed IMO.

I like #1 because I enjoy seeing the beautiful environment which your subject is set in. It all depends on the purpose of your photo.

#1 has too much negative space on the right.  The subject is on the left.  I think it would work better if you cropped some of on the right.  #2 has unusual colors.  Try adjusting them..  Also, there's negative space on the right that could be cropped out.  Your long exposure time created blurring things in the water on the right where the flow of the river was greatest but the stuff on the left isn't moving.  That's a little disconcerting to my eyes.   The right crop would help for that too.

Nice shots.

Oh one other thing about #2.  Because of the long exposure, the people on the dock are blurred.  Either shoot when there are no people, or increase your shutter speed so they don't blur.

I tend to agree with Jeremy, Peter and DHancock. The "ratty looking logs" could easily be cloned out.

It all depends on the purpose of your photo.

And it's too difficult to answer a question about composition when there are so many other differences between the photos.

Prefer the 2nd, but don't like the "grunge HDR" look !!

I'd vote for #1.

With #2, I have a hard time telling what the subject is.  And it seems like there's an odd color cast in the pic.

I'm on the fence Batmura.  I like the positioning and additional size (and hence detail) of the structure in the second one, but I like that stone in the foreground in the first one (although I would have composed with the stone a little more to the right if at all possible).  The brick wall in the foreground in the second image helps my "foreground fetish," but it appears unbalanced (with more "stuff" on the left) for me.

Hate the rock, so #2, BUT the composition is split - wall leads the eye back to the building on the left, water patterns lead the eye back to the bridge in the middle, no cohesion between the two halfs = can't tell which is the focal point.
