Thank you, it's one of the reasons that I envy the film world: that transition from one thing to another that you get when you focus a long lens at different extremes of distance is always lost in stills - you just can't express motion in a single frame, and it isn't about blur lines.
Was a time, on our terrace, that I'd point a lens over the hedge and at something a few hundred yards away - or even at a small tree just fifty yards away, and the feeling as the top of the hedge went from crisp to blur, the sunlit leaves changing shape like that, was magical. The solid world turned liquid without having altered at all.
