And Diego, I am still enjoying watching you stay open enough to experiment with that which you find yourself near...keep it up! Almost child like unconditional curiosity and experiment is indeed to be celebrated.

Well, for me personally is more a matter of enjoying the feeling of being amazed by the train of thought that an abstract image gives me, no matter how irrational or useless those thoughts may be.
Something like "...it looks like and horse. I wonder what's the smell of an horse. Maybe it's something like eating a carob. I ate a carob as a child, when I went to sicily..." and so on.

On "child like unconditional curiosity and experiment" I agree with you 100%: I hope to stay childishly curious all my life.

Thank you, it's one of the reasons that I envy the film world: that transition from one thing to another that you get when you focus a long lens at different extremes of distance is always lost in stills - you just can't express motion in a single frame, and it isn't about blur lines.

Was a time, on our terrace, that I'd point a lens over the hedge and at something a few hundred yards away - or even at a small tree just fifty yards away, and the feeling as the top of the hedge went from crisp to blur, the sunlit leaves changing shape like that, was magical. The solid world turned liquid without having altered at all.

There's another thing happens: I often find myself with the caption well before I see the picture lying somewhere waiting for me.

There's a mixture of opinion regarding captions, and whether they help or hinder the enjoyment of the 'viewer' and I have to admit, my opinion is that the picture belongs to the photographer, and it's up to him/her to indicate what it means to him or to her. Equally, the shooter has the right to refrain from writing anything. I'm not certain there's necessarily credit in casting one's creation out into the world without a birth certificate.

I can find all sorts of faces and creatures above the dark stripe. I interpret the stripe as representing the River Styx, perhaps.
