Not to worry; it's a flowering bud of a plant.

I did a color version that hints at that more, but the b&w one just seemed more foreboding.

Yes! I immediately thought of John R, too. Both very nice.
The first is reminiscent (slightly) of an image of peeling paint by Minor White.

I see three nice shots from Arlen and Chuck. I knew I should have taken money and ran while I could. Only one thing to do, add another shot to thread and hope for more money!
