I think making the top a little less bright helps.

played with that Idea myself but it always seems to lose some purity to me. but that's me. Maybe if we met in the middle???

"psychodelic flowers", at least that's how I named the corresponding Photoshop action
(which essentially preserves the most saturated colors while the rest is sent through some filters).
