I say it's an Abstract.

Quite. A detail of a Miami fountain, taken earlier in the day.

Nice one, Arlen.
Yes, very nice. It is like a tapestry and has the light glow look that really shows the wonderful subtle colors and patterns in the wood. But really Arlen, you have to learn to leave those whales alone.

Thanks, Eric and John.

A whale, huh? I saw it as more like a serpent searching for--chipmunks?--but I could envision it as a whale or a fish. Lately I seem to be noticing zoomorphic patterns within inanimate objects. Maybe I'm regressing to a cave man inner self. Better get a DNA analysis to see if I have an extra helping of Neanderthal genes.  ;)

Trying the "bold bw filter" and this is one result.

Most cameras have software filters built in. Fuji is known for their film simulation filters like astia and velvia. So a bold bw filter creates extremely bold contrasty images in bw. Same as you would do in photoshop if you like that look. I just want to try it. Works a lot better on sunny days as the high contrast is already there to begin with. it tends to block up and blackout dark and shadow areas. So you have to choose your subjects wisely if you want to do it at all.

I like it, John. But I'm really disappointed that it wasn't all done in-camera.  ;)

Thanks Arlen. This one is not the usual "offering" in a church.
