It's amazing what PP will do to recover shadow detail. Lots of noise that works to my benefit this time.

And one with lots of light- dappled light, that is.

I was thinking the same thing. That blue-white-orange combination has a soothing effect, I think.

Strange how the mind plays John. How in the world your waterlily took me to the light of the Dutch masters AND Picasso's cubist portraits in the same flight of fancy I am unable to explain, yet it did. Such play is always so rewarding. Thanks for this one~

I posted something similar a while back, but this I like better. I going to try it again with hopefully a softer light so that the triangle is not so bright.

Great shadows and light (nice triangles). The aged three-way light switch is a neat element. The subtle hues work. ...keep playing with it.

Yep, makes you think abstractly (another argument would posit that all thought is abstract), and that is good for the soul, pushing it to spaces it might otherwise not navigate.

As an aside: Lillian Bassman would have loved that shot!

Very generous Rob,
Her ability to work so graphically, painting and fashion, having sprung from the generation she did, was an early inspiration back in my teens. She perceived light in verso in a way that set the mind wandering. Although I have not yet achieved her 90 some odd years, I am on my way there, carrying her long white hair.
