The Otus seems to be in a different league.

+1 on the Otus.  Yum. The Cine 0.95 also doesn't look 1/2 bad for playing with super-silly shallow Dof

Wow, that's amazing.  The Otus actually picks up the halftone newspaper photo on the frame edge at f/1.4 sharply enough to produce abundant moire.  What an incredible lens.

The Zeiss-Sony is so good it makes the Otus price very hard to justify. Considering that a triad of Otuses, WA, Norm and Tele could add to something like $12K, probably even more. I would be better served buying a nicely used P45+ for my V system. So, more likely I won't be buying any Otus for now. After Fotokina I may consider changing my mind or reinforcing it.

I have done that. Don't know if it was a good idea, but I like it. The results are good, but don't blow my socks off.

Reagarding the Otus, I would say it excels at f/1.4, but I don't know if it so much better at the smaller apertures I normally use, diffraction takes it's toll.

The Sony Zeiss performs well and is more affordable and seems to be a better match for the camera. I am also looking forward to the new Sigma A-series f/1.4.

Under the assumption that the Otus cannot visualise sainthood I would presume it comes from overzealous processing.

for me its fascinating how good the 55mm 1,8f is also.
i just made my first own shots with this lens, it arrived yesterday, and i have to say i didnt saw a better 50mm lens before.
might be the otus is still better, but its nearly 1 kilo glas ... the 1.8 is a nice small piece of glass which beats all other lenses as well. except the half stop less aperturs.
