Roughprofiler?
« on: January 10, 2014, 11:52:50 am »

Hi,

I have an old Mac G5 with OS 10.5.8 installed. (it won't support anything higher). I planned on downloading Roughprofiler and using this machine with the it8 targets from Wolf Faust to make profiles for my Nikon LS 5000 slide and film scanner. I then planned to move the profiles to my 10.7 Macbook pro. Problem is, when I try to open it, Roughprofiler says that it will not work on this system due to "architecture". It has a big red line across it. The Roughprofiler website says RP is compatible with 10.5 and 10.6. I guess 10.5.8 won't work, it has to be exactly 10.5 or 10.6? That doesn't sound right to me. I have also considered that it may be a hardware issue......any ideas?

If I can't get this to work, I guess I will use the profiler in Vuescan which I have read is not to great.

Thanks

Why don't you try mighty ArgyllCMS? It works well in all OSX versions.
