Lens adapters for Sony A7r, for Nikon G mount
« on: December 08, 2013, 11:02:51 am »

What adapters are people considering or using for the Sony A7r with Nikon G lenses?  From what I have been able to determine, the metabones Canon to Sony E III, is most impressive for Canon lenses, allowing for both AF and IS.  Is there any adapter out there that allows for the use Nikon G AF lenses to use the AF?  VR would be an afterthought.

I have looked at metabones, and their Nikon adapter seems to be very basic, allows the aperture to stop down, but no AF, Also looked at Novoflex and their adapter that I could find seems to work the same way as the Metabones.

Thanks

The rumor has it that IP issues are preventing the support of Nikon AF through these adapters.

This being said, AF appears to be slow for Canon lenses.

Cheers,

Internal/Intercompany/Idiotic Politics?   :)

Whatever, it likely has something to do with Nikon's, shall we say, anally proprietary attitude towards its tech. I honestly suspect Nikon thinks it, not photographers, owns the RAW data generated by its cameras.
