Leopard on the move
« on: December 03, 2013, 03:49:07 pm »

This leopard was stalking Red Lechwe in the Okavango Delta.
Every now and then the leopard would adopt this posture to see over the tall swamp grass.
By the time the evening light completely faded this leopard was only yards from the Red Lechwe who were still oblivious to its presence.
We never did get see the kill.

Excellent.  In all the wildlife films and stills I've seen in a lifetime I have never seen this behavior depicted.

Great shot.
I would hang that on my wall, 24" wide.

One of my domestic moggies sits like that, but I've never seen a shot of big cat like that before. Great capture.

Excellent. I see that you had the 1.4x on the 500mm lens.
