Stygian Owl (Brazil)
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:12:19 pm »

I got home from a month in SE Brazil on Sunday night. What a wonderful country for bird photography!

It's tough to decide what images to share first but I thought I'd start with what was actually the first bird I put my lens on - a Stygian Owl!

After arriving in to Sao Paolo and driving to my first reserve it was quite an amazing surprise to find this rare bird and have it pose so nicely for the first images of the trip. Definitely a great start to this journey!

Lot's more to come from Brazil...

Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
Shutter speed: 1/60 sec

Stunning capture. I like how sharp the owl looks.

When they hear you are coming, the birds all like to pose for you, Glenn!
