Val de Boquer B/W
« on: November 27, 2013, 06:13:58 pm »

The evening light gave some odd colors on Ektar, so I decided to convert.
The sky actually was quite dramatic - dark greyish blues with thunderstorm approaching.

Oh yes - I made the path by walking ... with an arthrotic hip as usual ... :P

Hi Christoph, I like this picture a lot.
However, I suspect that if I saw impressive looking clouds like that, I might be heading back downhill ASAP.
  :)

Seriously, I hope you weren't far from shelter!

We were already on the way back, about 10-15 minutes from the car.
All safe - an we arrived dry.

I like it a lot. The path and the rocks already offer plenty for the eyes (shapes, contrast, textures) but the heavy sky adds drama. I also like how the path goes behind the rocks, it lets my imagination work a bit!

But, for the next outing, keep in mind lightning hits more often in front of the "front." You were lucky as I've seen lightning extend nearly across the visible sky to make ground, leaving a storm cloud and arriving in the clear blue.

I do like the shot, though.

Beautiful shot, but nothing says Oh Crap! like having the hair on your arms stand up while hiking in the mountains.  And nothing is as impressive and take your breath away like having lightning strike within a couple hundred yards.

One of your best so far, I think.
