Thanks Chris. Much appreciated.

I was trying to create a real sense of depth. Hopefully I succeeded in that.

It was my 1st visit.

definitely plan on going back.

did you shoot that with a longish lens?

was it shot mid-day?

Pretty nice shot. Only thing, I'd really like to be seeing the base of that fore ground cactus. I know sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. A major picture element running out of frame leaves me with an unfinished feeling.

I understand and I agree with your comment.

But you already answered you your own concern.

It was not possible with the lens I was using and I liked the framing otherwise. That was the tradeoff.

The interposition of the Barrel cacti leading the eye into the frame and the Canyon was my objective. To create depth.

I believe I succeeded in that.

Thank you for the feedback.

You did create depth nicely, that was the main thing I noticed.

Stunning location. In #1, I think the first plant is distracting, it covers part of the view. I think just one plant would be enough to provide a sense of depth?

On #2, I like very much the way the cloud stratification mimics the stratification on the rocks.

I agree with Paulo on the first one.  Normally I would prefer the foreground element but the second one pulls you right into the canyon without distraction.  Nice shots.

Thanks for the feedback.

It seems the 2nd shot is the preferred image.

The third image works well for me.  Lot of visual interest, but does not detract from the stunning background.

Thanks for the additional feedback Chris.

If I do a print #3 might just be the one.

Photo #2 and photo #3 work better for me. I cannot decide between those two. Anyway, it's a nice view on the canyon.

That's a pretty dramatic and beautiful canyon.  All three photos are quite nice though the third holds the most visual interest for me.  Where is this?

Brett-

It's Whitmore Canyon at the Grand Canyon.

They launch a lot rafts from this spot because you can get pretty close to the river w a high clearance 4WD.

Next time I'll be hiking right down to the river.

Thanks for the feedback.
