The second one strikes me more as an 'I was here' image, but I really like the first one.

#1 works well for me. The line of the leaves leads my eye to the flowing river.

I prefer the first photo. The colorful leaves and the dark water are perfect together. The second photo is also nice but more like Mike said "I was there"…
